Federal dollars to flow to Columbus-area youth programs

Columbus town leaders Thursday declared that the town would put $16.2 million — mostly from federal COVID-19 reduction cash — toward youth applications this summer, which officials explained was 2.5 instances final year’s volume. 

“What we’re hoping to do is make certain this is a seamless handoff from the Columbus City Colleges to the very hot summer season,” said Columbus Town Council President Shannon Hardin throughout an announcement in Franklinton.
