Severn Sisters – A True Community! — Anna Fine Jewellery

I’ve created a few of weblogs around the last couple of weeks that I didn’t really publish. I’m not sure why, but I’m going to just go with the strategy that if I assumed they were being any excellent, I’d have concluded producing and printed them!

Currently even though, I do actually have some thing worth crafting about. It’s a tale of actual local community and collaboration, of nuts thoughts, hard do the job and tons of love…

About this time las year (wow! It was that very long ago, I just seemed it up!!) I was questioned to be element of a group exhibition of artists that had been either motivated by or labored along with the river Severn. I nearly reported no, as I always noticed to be absolutely snowed less than with commissions and hardly ever get any time to make everything other than that.

I did not say no though…I made the decision to commit to doing something, that had turn out to be just a tiny outside the house my comfort zone. I joined the Severn Sisters and we place on our to start with exhibition at 7Q Gallery in Chepstow.

The exhibition seemed wonderful and very superior income have been manufactured, but I want to explain to you about our “second” event….Open House……

It was all the courageous notion of Annie Brennan, who we’ve now all named our “mother superior”. An strategy based all-around similar exhibitions that she’d frequented/heard of in metropolis centres – all of the “sisters” putting on an exhibition more than a weekend, in her dwelling. So, soon after some conferences, some treats and a couple of beverages, with no promoting finances and no concept if any individual would come, we made the decision to go for it!

Well… I imagine the only words to describe this earlier weekend are resounding results!! There had been 13 of us included all with each other, and simply by some social media sharing and a bit of leaflet printing on our dwelling printers, people today did locate out at about it – loads of persons in truth! It just goes to present that if you put your mind to it, and give your pretty ideal energy, just about anything is achievable!

For me even though, the authentic results has been finding this incredible group of women (and one particular token male of class) that have just been so supportive to every single other during the organisation and the genuine occasion. More than the past number of months, but particularly in the course of the Open up Household itself, we chatted about so several points and shared so several laughs. Theres naturally been hugs, but to be honest, it feels like the Severn Sisters are just a single huge consistent hug. The way that the team just gelled was of course noticed by our website visitors as one of them imagined that we all lived and labored collectively in Annie’s property!

We’re all distinct ages, from distinctive sites and backgrounds and have various sights, likes and dislikes, and that is definitely okay. I truly feel so privileged to have been asked to be aspect of this astounding tiny neighborhood and I can’t hold out to start out wondering about what we do next!
